wednesday 2nd october
tim cursor sent a mail with the link and 'your colours' as the subject. i knew there was a reason why i should have saved thirty grand by about right now.

tuesday 1st november
mac: apple + d = duplicate file
pc: control + d = delete file

nice.

i've been working on an old dell running xp at the network and it definitely ain't a mac. okay, so i've never used a pc before, like, ever - al even had to open applications for me - and i've been on the mac for a good 11 years now so i'm quick. given that amount of experience it's obvious i'm never going to learn the quickest way to do find files and generally work at my usual pace, but i'm still finding it a struggle, a week in. control/apple and option/alt are swapped which makes life hell as you realise the mistake you made were four functions ago. the adobe apps aren't the problem, it's everything microsoft - the folders, fonts and overall appearance looks like it's going to fall apart at any second, and the colours, (yeah i bet you can change them but give us a break) are terribly harsh. the arrow is too fat and too white, the mouse travels too quickly and the plonking alert sound is enough to etc etc. it's all too computery. bring me my mac. it's friendly.

saturday 29th october
add a few more things on top and the more you have to shift. simple economics. this week was a heavy shifting week.

this is the first time in nearly two years that my bath has had a fitted panel on it. to everyone else this is normal. to me it's a dream come true. in nine days it's going to be like a whole new flat again. come on christmas, come on cold fireplace crackling nights, and come on steve and come on finding the right tiles and come on come on come on.

friday 26th october
nearly fell asleep at my monitor today. never done that before. after a late night monstering it and an early morning collecting a towel ladder, paint, a concertina shower door and exchanging valves. then fosters home for imaginary friends' new year special gets an mtv best of without the twisty chair i was done.

got home, painted the bathroom ladder bit and needed my screwdriver which upstairs jane had. went to get it, let the dog have a wee and then joobes crashes in and sneezes everywhere and droopy sue meanders in then jane turns up then we're yelling into microphones pissed as farts.

friday night round ours is like a luxury halls of residence. honestly, it's that good. if i get ill joobes owes me a hundred quid, and the way i'm going she's on a real loser. cool.

wednesday 26th october
having just a bath in the mornings is horrid. reward time. oxford street is one away. ooh, long walk. bit of surfing while i render and...

it's
out.

it's been out for nearly two weeks and i missed it. poor but understandable. i beep myself out of work, come home, sand the bathroom, eat and paint the bathroom and then, at a quarter to eleven, sit down. verdict: well, avoiding the mtv-alike menus the game is much more focused. the structure of it isn't as logical or intuitive as it's predecessor but the gameplay is better - random skiers snowploughing across the brows of jumps, and the slapdown challenge is almost python-esque in humour. burnout-style screen blurring when boosting on ice and whipping noises and close call bonuses are all good, shame you can't buy skill and tricks in stages though. tighter courses, too. if you're a trickyhead you'll love it. the only other game i've played is gt4, obvoiusly no explanation needed. there then.

saturday 22nd october
survivable. groan.

friday 21st october
the unsurprisingly large hole in my bathroom wall i found when i got home after a very full week of new in november bubbles. easy weekend, then.

wednesday 19 october

after a month at precursor working in heavy 3d for a future release from my all time favourite console software creators, a month at home carpet laying, dogsitting, patio laying, bathroom buying, showreel finishing, billboard hydraulic modelling, endurance racing, and the odd birthday here and there with nev it's three weeks at cartoon network. lots done, more to do as static shock get's versioned for cartoon network (and my ad having twice the airings, sweet) and i brand the 'all new in november afternoons' 30 seconder in two days. it's difficult to make a good impression with a deadline like that but when the old client and other-department boss says 'he da man' you've got to be chuffed.

oh yeah, and check me out. i built me another website. maybe that explains the gap...

sunday 16th october
happy birthday to me, apparently. the new head of the table is the youngest. and has power over all. he's got a better car than me already - a z4 and mini cooper. good lad.
