thursday 22nd february
today i landed. i still don't want to talk about it.

wednesday 21st february
today tracey snapped the cocount picture. i got a photograph. then i flew home. i don't want to talk about it.

tuesday 20th february
wave trips and dying embers of sun. rockwell beach, sporadic showers and the horizon-to-horizon rainbow as clear as your arm and with a second right next to it. step and repeat. some places are magical, some times are endless and some people are inspirational. but when you have all three simultaneuosly you can't even describe it. but it's all here in my head, as lucid as it was then. i can still feel the stinging cold of the raindrops falling through the sun onto my arms, the grit of the sand between my toes and the salt in my nose. and natural, fresh eyes without monitor mist clouding their vision.

monday 19th february
today i got my friend married. it was a delicate ceremony on the beach with tears, laughter, sand and bluey orange sunsets. the kind of colour you can't simulate or even capture. it's about your eyes, your brain and the moment. when i close my eyes i can still sort of still see them, only diluted. i voiced a speech and made people cry. i hugged everyone. i'm proud of my friend. i didn't cry.

sunday 18th february
today's waveish entry is in the grey section. think of the carribean sea lapping gently against the shore, with phil and i lying on undulating boards counting waves and splishing and you shold get the idea. sherlock has retired to sit on six pillows with a huge pile of shag, and i'm hoping the shrew can be tamed before my feet hit english concrete.

beeping at the drive in. dude!

saturday 17th february
barbecues, dogs and nodding jamies. watching children fall asleep is just the cutest thing you've ever seen. tired eyes droop, blink, the eyeballs roll back, the head starts bobbing and the spine reflexes back. excellent.

friday 16th february
sore throat and balcony cures.

thursday 15th february
jet lagged, tired and sizzling. rum punch and wide, staring eyes. culture shock, amazement. and calm.

i got a sunburn. i got a phone call. i got a big cough. i need a photograph.

wednesday 14th february
an early drive, a cold start. soul mates and strangers, palm trees and telegraph poles, ultraviolet and rain. 4,000 miles and just one conversation. it was 9 hours long and it seemed like ten minutes.
