much as i have avoided taking pictures of food over the last however long this site's been running, i had to today. it's whale meat day. oh yes. whale meat day, finally. (tastes like roast beef, by the way.)



saturday 28th may
that 'more widgets' button in osx tiger's a beaut! slide over to it and link yourself to all manner of ridiculous information that downloads itself automatically - so far i'm looking at:

personalised tv channel listings (with now and next!)
air traffic control
train timetables
system stats
othello
patience
areas of the world in sunlight

plus the old school favourites that it ships with: calculator, calendar, unit converter, address book, stickies, itunes, dictionary/thesaurus.

friday 27th may
they say england doesn't have a climate, it has weather but, well, they ain't seen nuthin'. it's seemingly official crazy weather day in the artic circle now; every two hours could have been a different place on a different day. steve's still banging on about trevor macdonald on the other side of the table, i sort out the qr-pod and we finally start to do the work we came for.





wednesday 25th may
day trip! wigwams and cargo crates!

 after we go to grandma's house for lunch sigrid answered my request to see something quintessentially norweigan by showing us the local fishing port with it's racks of drying cod, lying beneath a nato outpost on the mountain. they're a speciality in spain - bacalao - although the trucks transporting them are often hijacked. don't worry - they're insured, i checked. but where does a spaniard hide a hundred grand's worth of stinking cod?!







monday 23rd may
whale meat day didn't happen again.



sunday 22nd may
my proper, work website gets designed as weather closes in. we watch sideways on the projector.

saturday 21st may
filming begins.

we're off to norway to make a film, a website, a diary entry or two and to see something new.

stanstead - oslo. oslo - 'quality' inn and darkness. quality inn - evenes as we enter the arctic circle and constant light. evenes - sudland. sigrid picks us up. sudland - nyksund and we're there. or here. whateverrr.
