longer ago than i can remember - probably around 1997 - i noted down a few random phrases i'd heard or thought and didn't want to forget, saving them as a simpletext document. i changed it's name from 'untitled 1' to 'quiet resonance' in order to deter me from deleting it, grabbing the name quickly from the air. i didn't labour over it and was happy enough with the first title i came across - it just fitted. i added an entry here and there. the file grew slowly over the following years until i decided i should use it as a basis for a personal website. i'd spent most of my working time learning how the web can generate revenue for clients, all the time frustrated that i wasn't using it for a more personal and creative use. i registered the name for £15 and began to post snippets from each day, trying where i could to maintain the original idea - the little bits of each day that sticks in your mind. i think the first entry sets the tone. here is the original simpletext document.
