"well after rocking in my red (devil) car to the likes of lit, reef, beachboys, a, and aerosmith. and enjoying the mirthmaking stories from the king of spoken skits (rob) on the way up. i was certainly ready to rock that slope.

i thank you all for being good sports and "having a go" and whether you "got on" with boarding or not ihope you had a good time and learnt a little something. bowling was also great and the kingpins amongst you shone thru within minutes. shame iwasnt one of them. (yeah, yeah, iknow)

those of us from london were constantly flabbergasted at the friendliness of the locals and the cheapness of the beer!!! i hope that you guys who travelled home on the train had an effortless journey back. just in case youre wondering, mark and i then saw "vertical limit" the film was harsh and terrifying, great stunts, but unforgiving on the heart. when we left the cinema we were shellshocked and wide-eyed.

...and then we had to face the slope again!!! for the next 4 hrs we were shown all the stuff i was gagging for, the turns, the techniques, the top (of the slope). we both lapped it up and i even pulled a cheeky ollie off the last lip. steve (instructor) had also promised us a few tricks on the quarter pipe at the base of the slope. well, we kinda ran out of time. so no backside airs or rodeo flips to speak of. but we were the last two remaining humans on that slope at 11.15pm on sunday nite!!! and we passed all the lesson with flying colours. too much dude!

markie was undoubltedly the victor of the weekend. not only for organising everything and everybody. but coming from boarding ignorance to bhuddist-like enlightment in the space of 24 hrs. he holds a record 7 runs from the top without a fall! i'm sure i speak for all of us when isay to him thanks alot and good work fella!

and now you probably think this is the end of the record of events but no. after leaving tamworth (got 2 back issues of surf for a quid rob!!!) we hi-tailed it to milton keynes to see the other snowslope - we were fully stoked.
after viewing the slope we tried to convince ourselves that we only came to look...but that was bollox! suited and booted we went for an hours recreational boarding! it certain helped compare the two slopes. toooo much dude!

this is the point where we actually did leave to return to london, got in about 7pm. so... no broken bones or horrific accidents. but i know (like those who boarded before us) that i am jacks "painfully aching body muscles". it all comes at a price but the exhilaration and satisfaction is immeasureable. and, to quote surf europe no.8 its good to "... get that chubby ass behind the wheel and discover life.."
speak to you all soon,"
